Michael LoBue MA, CSCS, RKC, USAW

Michael LoBueMike has 15 years of coaching and strength and conditioning experience. He was most recently the co-head coach for the San Diego State Track & Field Team while also serving as the team’s strength and conditioning coach. He is currently on the national staff for The International Pole Vault Summit where he has been a speaker and developmental coach for the last 14 years. He also worked as an assistant track coach at the University of Utah, Fresno State, and the University of Nebraska as well as Golden West High School.

Many of Mike’s athletes have excelled while working with him. At the 2008 USA Olympic Trials for Track & Field, Mike coached four athletes—three in the pole vault and one in the shot put. Mike relishes the challenge of training people and enabling them to exceed their expectations. He is passionate about finding the right way to inspire, motivate, and help each individual achieve their specific fitness and performance goals. Athletes and clients appreciate his straight-forward approach to training and his commitment to the individual.

Mike is a NSCA certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and USA Weightlifting Level 1 Olympic Weightlifting Club Coach. He has a master's degree in Psychosocial Aspects of Sport from the University of Utah. He is also a Russian Kettlebell Certified Instructor (RKC).

Dr. Dawn Liu, Ph.D., D.C., L.Ac

Dr. Dawn Liu, Ph.D., D.C., L.AcDr. Dawn grew up in a family with a strong tradition of Oriental healing arts and scientific research. Her passion for the sciences began from a very early age and as a result, she obtained her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from University of Michigan and subsequently carried out top-notch research on potential biological treatment for Parkinson's Disease at Genentech.

She then went on to pursue her passion in healing by obtaining her Doctorate degrees in Chiropractic, Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, graduating with special honors as the first dual Valedictorian for both degrees in the school's history. In addition to being a successful Chiropractor and Acupuncturist, Dr. Dawn Liu is also an experienced practitioner and Instructor of Active Release Techniques (ART), teaching other doctors this highly effective soft tissue technique that has made a huge difference in the world of pain and injury.

With her broad knowledge basis and experience, Dr. Dawn Liu has not only helped many patients to achieve fast recovery from debilitating pain and injuries, but has also helped them enjoy a physically active life style on a long-term basis. Conditions that Dr. Dawn have helped effectively range from pain in the neck and back, to most muscle, soft tissue and nerve pain of shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, leg and foot. A marathon runner herself, Dr. Dawn Liu is the founder of the "Total Recovery & Performance Breakthrough for Athletes" program. An expert in fast injury recovery and pain free performance, Dr. Dawn Liu is a highly sought after doctor with proven success on athletes from all levels, from first time runners to top contenders of Ironman championship.

As an expert in biomechanics, a marathon runner and a seasoned martial artist, Dr. Dawn constantly seeks to improve physical skills based on bio-mechanically sound and highly efficient movement patterns. She diligently practices what she advocates: effective strength and conditioning based on high biomechanical efficiency. Dr. Dawn Liu brings her extensive experience with ART and her expertise in biomechanical diagnosis to help our Foundation Strength members to recover fast from any pain and physical injury that impedes their workout or daily life.

Patrick Cullinane, CSCS

Patrick CullinanePatrick graduated from Norwich University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In the fall of 2007 he was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps, and served for 4 years as an Artillery Officer. After his service, Patrick completed a brief internship at Foundation and was subsequently hired as a strength coach.

In his time as a strength coach, Patrick has worked with a diverse array of athletes in the surrounding area including track and field, baseball, football, basketball, and triathletes. Patrick enjoys designing programs to make athletes stronger and more powerful. Additionally, his other passion is designing post-therapy programs from individuals looking to make the transition from injury back into the gym.

Patrick played Rugby at Norwich University, and has been involved in numerous sports throughout his life including Baseball, Soccer, and Basketball. Patrick is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Kailyn Anderson, CKT

Kailyn AndersonKailyn Anderson teaches our Kettlebell Strength & Tone Class. She is a San Diego native and has always enjoyed an active lifestyle. She played soccer competitively until she was 18. After leaving soccer continued to train in the gym and remained active through jogging, hiking, and kettlebell training. She is a certified kettlebell trainer through the International Kettlebell & Fitness Federation.
